A true reflection of France’s cultural and artistic diversity

Founded in 2006, this ceremony celebrates the French and international cultural and artistic scene. This event is the only one of its kind to recognise the following categories:
film, theatre, music, literature, live shows, one-person shows, musical comedy and television.
By covering so many categories, the ceremony represents real cultural diversity, offering everyone the chance to celebrate and highlight the multitude of talents we have in the Arts.

The Globes de Cristal (Crystal Globes) is the only ceremony where the awards are voted for by professional Arts and Culture journalists from all media (written press, digital, TV and radio). The Academy Jury has 20 expert journalists who nominate five people in each of the 21 categories.

The Globe d’Honneur is awarded to a French artist in honour of their whole career.

In 2019, this award will also be given to an international artist.

The Globes de Cristal also recognises generosity, altruism and solidarity, values cherished by its new President, who has decided that an award will be given to a charity every year.

In 2019, the 14th Globes de Cristal ceremony includes, new categories, from the six major spheres of art, culture and entertainment.
Best Comedy Film, Best Comedy Actress, Best Comedy Actor, Best Actress in a Play, Best Actor in a Play, Best Entertainment Show, Best Album, Best Web Serie and 2 international Globes for Best Foreign Film and Best Foreign Serie / Mini-serie.

Mehdi Hamdi, the new Globes de Cristal President, has breathed new life into the awards in a number of ways. He is looking to the future by making the ceremony more international, and by 2020 plans to hold Globes de Cristal awards in other countries, stating loud and clear the universal power of Art and Culture in all its forms.

What was missing was a special time during which all cultural fields – and not only film, literature, theater, and music – could gather and celebrate the most noteworthy creations and careers. What was also missing was an event which could for the first time bring together the cultural journalists who, each day, comment, critique, appreciate and know both the public and the professionals. This major event allows us to review the past year and to inspire all our talents for the upcoming year”.
